Basic Life Support (BLS)

The American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Course covers core material including adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation.


Intended Audience:
For healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and anyone who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course. Course description provided by the American Heart Association®

BLS Skills Testing

The BLS Skills Session is an opportunity to practice and test the necessary hands-on skills with one of our helpful instructors. Prior to attending a Skills Session, the participant should have completed the online portion of the test.

To complete the online class, please go to www.onlineaha.org When finished, print out the Certificate of Completion and bring it to class. Time to complete the hands-on session varies depending on the experience of the student.

HeartSaver® First Aid
CPR/AED

The Heartsaver First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes Rescuer Safety, Recognition of Emergencies, General Principles, Medical Emergencies, and Injury Emergencies. CPR and AED, and Environmental Emergencies will also be covered in this course.


Intended Audience:

For those who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements or anyone interested in learning how to respond to various illnesses and injuries. This community course is open to all participants. HeartSaver® K-12 Schools

This is a Heartsaver course taught in schools for kindergarten through 12th grade. This includes elementary, middle, junior, and high schools. Participants successfully completed the objectives and skills evaluations in accordance with the curricula of the AHA Heartsaver programs.

 

Intended Audience:

School students, faculty, and staff. “Faculty” refers to teachers and coaches; “staff” refers to an employee of a K-12 school or K-12 school system. Course description provided by the American Heart Association®

ASHI Bloodborne Pathogens 

The American Safety & Health Institute Bloodborne Pathogen training program goal is to provide knowledge to persons with identified risk on how to avoid exposure to blood and other potentially infectious material, and what steps will be taken if exposure occurs.

Intended Audience:

For individuals who are trained as a CPR and/or first aid provider, or have an identified job classification in which there are tasks or procedures that increase exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Course description provided by American Health & Safety Institute.

ASHI CPR/AED and First Aid Combo

The American Safety & Health Institute's combined CPR/AED & Basic First Aid training course is designed specifically for laypeople and is an excellent choice for CPR and defibrillator training. This extremely flexible program will help prepare individuals to respond to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and choking incidents. Partnered with basic first aid training this course helps students develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond. This training program is an excellent choice for both community and workplace settings. This CPR and AED & Basic First Aid course conform to the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and Early Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Intended Audience:

Individuals who are not healthcare providers or professional rescuers but who desire, or are required, to be certified in CPR and the use of an AED:

  • Emergency response teams in business and industry

  • Adult residential care personnel

  • Teachers

  • Parents

  • Babysitters

1-on 1 Emergency CPR Certification

We understand that life happens, and your renewal date may have passed you by. 1-on-1 instruction is available at your convience and at the location of your choice. A certification cared is made available immediately after training is completed to get you in-compliance and back to work ASAP! Additional fees apply.

On-site CPR/First Aid Training 

For your convenience on-site training is available for groups of any size. Our instructor will provide all equipment and supplies necessary at the location of your choice. A mileage fee will apply when providing service for a group of 3 persons or less.

Family & Friends CPR

The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only CPR, adult CPR with breaths, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR, and mild and severe airway block for adults, children, and infants. Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a CPR course completion card to meet a job requirement.

 

Intended Audience:

This course is ideal for community groups, new parents, grandparents, babysitters, and others interested in learning how to save a life. Course description provided by the American Heart Association®
